Brown County Rural Water Association
In response to the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment:
Brown County Rural Water Association (BCRWA) would like to address the concerns of our customers. BCRWA uses ground water as it's source and does not draw directly from the river. We are monitoring the situation while working with multiple agencies. There are no concerns regarding water quality at this time. We will provide updates should there be any changes to the situation.
Should you have further questions, please call (937) 375-4106 ext 236.
There is no higher priority for BCRWA than protecting the health and safety of the members, employees and community we serve. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has not been detected in drinking water. COVID-19 is a type of virus that is particularly susceptible to disinfection and the standard treatment process. Water that is provided to our customers has been filtered and disinfected. More information about drinking water and COVID-19 can be found on the EPA’s website.
